Infrastructure Management

Client

Ft. Huachuca Directorate of Information Management (DOIM)

Description

Ft. Huachuca is home to a number of organizations central to the success of the Army's ongoing mission, including the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM)/9th Army Signal Command, the United States Army Intelligence Center and School, and the Fort Huachuca Garrison.

The Challenge

To centralize operations, integrate desktop and server management functions for roughly 5,000 desktops and 150 servers, including the post's NIPRNet (Nonsecure Internet Protocol Router Network) and SIPRNet (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) Active Directory and network infrastructure.

To complete all diagnostic tasks without any loss of performance or access to the systems, including accounting for all existing assets and developing, testing and pushing solutions to thousands of individual machines.

The Solution

tiag developed automated procedures capable of cataloging existing software and hardware, and producing detailed reports of network vulnerabilities and operations security (OPSEC) violations.

tiag built, tested, and deployed software solutions which secured the entire infrastructure by remotely upgrading desktop images and deleting unauthorized software. tiag also successfully collapsed and migrated the post's existing SIPRNET infrastructure into a single Active Directory domain which provides Ft. Huachuca with detailed insight and improved manageability of their SIPRNET.

The Result

tiag achieved full SIPRNET Active Directory consolidation with 100% data integrity and no unscheduled downtime. This has provided the Ft. Huachuca DOIM with increased asset visibility and an improved security posture.

The DOIM has also received increased awareness and security compliance through tiag’s success at implementing and sustaining an enterprise management infrastructure that has allowed near real-time vulnerability remediation and system monitoring.

Through tiag’s efforts, management can also quickly generate Service Level Agreement-dictated reports, provide billing and supply tracking within the Visual Information arena as well as easily track current issues through the environment in a single Service Desk interface.

tiag continues to provide ongoing management and engineering services to support the DOIM at Fort Huachuca.
